Most “free” QR generators hand you a dynamic QR code: the image points at their short link, which redirects to yours. If that company shuts the link down, raises its price, or goes out of business, every code you printed stops working.
This tool makes static QR codes instead. Your link or text is encoded directly into the black-and-white pattern, so the code is self-contained. There is no redirect, no server, no account, and no scan limit — which is why it cannot expire, and why it will still scan in ten years on a business card, a poster, a menu or a product label.
The trade-off of a static code: because the destination is baked in, you cannot change where it points afterwards, and you get no scan analytics. Generation happens entirely in your browser — the text you encode is never sent anywhere.
